Terms of use
Last updated 29 September 2026
Who we are
Spectre is a financial technology company, not a chartered bank. Spectre accounts are not bank deposit accounts and are not covered by deposit insurance.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and verify your identity to open an account. Keep your password, passkeys and authenticator codes private — you are responsible for activity made with them.
We may ask you to confirm it’s you (a passkey or authenticator code) before sensitive actions such as larger withdrawals or linking a bank.
Moving money
Transfers to and from linked banks are held until they settle. If a transfer is returned by the other bank, any held funds are released back to your available balance. Daily limits apply and are shown before you confirm.
Disputes
If something looks wrong, open the transaction and choose “Problem with this transaction?”. We’ll review your report and keep you updated in notifications.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Spectre for unlawful activity, to deceive others, or to interfere with the service. We may restrict or close accounts that break these terms.
Changes
We’ll update this page when these terms change and tell you in the app about important changes before they take effect.
